Golden Temple

Amritsar , My home Town  , I love my home town infact everybody love their home town, Because we spent our childhood there , so many things thet we have done their remain in your mind througout your life. Amritsar city is one of the major cities of the Punjab state in India. This city was founded by Guru Ram Das ji in 1574 on land bought by him for 700 rupees (currency of india)from the owners of the village of Tung. Amritsar is 32 kilometres east of Lahore, Pakistan and therefore, very close to India’s western border with Pakistan.

It is located in the northwestern part of India and is the administrative headquarters of Amritsar district in the state of Punjab , India.

Meaning of Amritsar :

The Ocean of  the Nector of Immortality.

  3. Cleaning their feet in a trough of running water they enter the Temple premises .
  4. bend down and touch your foreheads with the marble floor in reverence to the holy Shrine.
  5. As it is customary, they turn left for circumambulation of the Sarovar.

Bullet Marks On The Wall In JallianWalla Bagh

1. Took place on 13 April 1919 in the heart of Amritsar.
2. The day sacred to Sikh as the birth anniversary of the Khalsa(Sikh Religion).
3. Brigadier Reginald Dyer marched a group of 90 British Indian Army soldiers.
4. General Dyer ordered troops to open fire without warning or any order to disperse.
5. He continued the firing, approximately 1400 rounds in all, until ammunition was exhausted.
6. As a result of the firing, hundreds of people were killed and thousands were injured.
7. Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer reported to his superiors that he had been “confronted by a revolutionary army”.
8. British Lieutenant-Governor of Punjab, Sir Michael O’Dwyer  wrote: “Your action is correct. Lieutenant Governor approves”.
